Troops attached to Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two suspected militia members during a targeted operation in Kokona Local Government Area.
The operation, which was based on intelligence reports, took place in Atara community on April 5, 2026. The development was made public by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on X.
According to the report, troops moved in around 1:15 pm and successfully apprehended the suspects.
During the operation, one of the individuals allegedly attempted to attack a soldier with a knife. The troops responded, and the suspect was shot in the leg.
He was later taken to a healthcare facility in Bassa for medical attention.
Both suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
