The Oyo State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected notorious kidnapper during a recent operation.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, who noted that several items were recovered from the suspect at the time of arrest.
According to the statement, the suspect, identified as Muhammadu Abubakar, was apprehended by a joint team of officers led by the Divisional Police Officer of the Ikoyi-Ile Division.
He said “The operation culminated in the arrest of one of the suspects, identified as Muhammadu Abubakar (male), from whom an AK-47 rifle with breach number 6628/2274, six rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and three live cartridges were recovered. The suspect’s arrest represents a significant breakthrough in curbing violent crimes in the State”
The police described the arrest as a major step toward tackling criminal activities and improving security across the state.
