One person has been confirmed dead following a violent clash between rival groups of suspected thugs in Kano.
The incident was made known in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources.
According to the report, the confrontation broke out around 10:30 p.m. in the Ja’en Unguwar Lalle area after a reconciliation meeting between the groups reportedly collapsed.
Makama explained that a distress call from a resident triggered a swift response from a police patrol team, which arrived at the scene, confronted the suspects, and brought the situation under control.
Police operatives also apprehended two suspected ringleaders, identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, 22, from Sabuwar Madina, and Abubakar Bello, also known as Babuji, 18, from Unguwar Lalle.
During the clash, three individuals sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for treatment.
One of the victims, Aliyu Abdullahi, 22, who suffered a severe neck injury, was later confirmed dead, while the others remain under medical care.
Subsequent raids by the police on suspected hideouts led to the arrest of eight additional suspects.
Security sources said items recovered from them included a cutlass, a sword, and charms.
Authorities added that investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as the case develops.
