Ogun Police Arrest Suspect Over Killing of Two

Police in Ogun State have arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Abubakar Musa, over a violent attack that left two people dead and three others critically injured in Olámbe, Ifo Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of April 7, reportedly followed a dispute linked to failed business dealings. The suspect allegedly turned on the victims with a knife after they attempted to calm him down.

According to a statement from the Ogun State Police Command, “On Tuesday, 7th April 2026, at about 0138hrs, the suspect stabbed five people. Two of them, Gbadamasi Ibrahim ‘M’, aged 25, and Chinedu ‘M’, aged 40, died while being taken to the hospital.”

“A doctor confirmed their deaths. The other three victims, Mohammed Abubakar ‘M’, aged 35; Ashiru Adamu ‘M’, aged 25; and Paul Lawrence ‘M’, aged 25, are in critical condition but responding to treatment,” the statement added.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended by detectives and is now in custody. Authorities confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and assured residents that justice would be pursued, while also urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
