The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has deployed 2,280 personnel across Kwara State to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration.
In a statement by Commandant Bala Bodinga, signed by spokesperson Ayoola Shola, the corps said operatives have been stationed across all 16 local government areas.
The deployment, according to the command, is aimed at preventing crime and maintaining law and order during the festive period, with personnel assigned to churches, motor parks, shopping centres, recreational venues, and other key locations.
Bodinga added that surveillance and patrol operations have been intensified in both urban and rural areas, while tactical and rapid response units remain on standby to handle any threats.
He also warned that anyone attempting to vandalise national assets or disrupt public peace would be arrested and prosecuted.
Residents were urged to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security agencies, and embrace the values of peace and unity during the Easter celebrations.
