Kwara Police Confirm Attack on PMF Camp, 5 Killed

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed an attack on a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp in Nuku village, via Kaiama, in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 10, 2026, resulted in the deaths of five members of the National Forest Guards. This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, in Ilorin.

Providing details of the incident, she said: “At about 03:45hrs, bandits launched a coordinated attack on the PMF Camp at Nuku village where five members of the National Forest Guards were fatally shot by armed bandits and an extensive damage done on a patrol vehicle belonging to police operatives before the PMF personnel in the camp repelled the bandits.”

Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, condemned the attack and extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

The police command assured residents that tactical and intelligence-driven operations have been launched to track down those responsible. Authorities added that security monitoring has been intensified to prevent further incidents and maintain public safety.

Residents were also urged to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could assist ongoing investigations.
