Delta Police Recover Stolen Vehicle in Sapele

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered a stolen vehicle used to transport suspected vandalised materials in Sapele.

The development was confirmed in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, on Thursday.

“On 30 March 2026 at about 1330hrs, a report was received at Sapele Division from a concerned citizen who alleged that he sighted a Toyota Sienna bus conveying suspected vandalised items, including iron cuts and a gas cylinder.

“Acting on the information, a patrol team under the supervision of the Divisional Police Officer was deployed to the scene.

“On sighting the police, the hoodlums abandoned the vehicle and fled into a nearby bush.

“The vehicle was recovered and towed to the station. Preliminary investigation has commenced, while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects,” the statement read.

Police authorities say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to identify and apprehend those involved in the incident.
