Boko Haram Fighter Confesses to Killing Over 100 People

A former Boko Haram fighter has confessed to killing more than 100 people during his time with the insurgent group.

The admission surfaced in a video shared on X, capturing a conversation between the repentant member and a foreign vlogger at a rehabilitation camp housing ex-fighters.

Speaking through an interpreter, he did not shy away from his past. “I have killed over 100 people,” he admitted.

He explained that his involvement began at a disturbingly young age, claiming he was drawn into the group around age 10 and made to follow orders from older members. According to him, “I started when I was about 10 years old. The elders gave instructions, and we followed them.”

Most of the violence, he said, took place in remote locations, where fighters were frequently instructed to raid villages.

He also revealed the fate of women captured during such attacks. Rather than being killed, many were forced into marriages with fighters. “If they capture women, they marry them, because there are few women in the camp,” he said.
