Two people have lost their lives following a late-night attack by armed bandits on Gidan Goga village in Masari Ward of Kafur Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The incident was made public on Tuesday through a post on X by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the report, the attackers stormed the community under the cover of darkness, throwing residents into panic. The two victims were said to have been killed while trying to confront the assailants.
In addition to the killings, the bandits reportedly fled with a large number of livestock from the village.
“Last night, bandits attacked Gidan Goga village in Masari ward, Kafur LGA of Katsina State, killing two residents who reportedly confronted them and rustling a large number of livestock,” Bakatsine wrote.
He also expressed concern over the repeated nature of such incidents, questioning the pace of response to the ongoing insecurity: “How many more communities must endure this before there is a decisive and sustained security response?”
