Odumodublvck has stirred conversation after alleging that age manipulation is common within the Nigerian music industry.
During a livestream with streamer Enzo, the rapper claimed that several artists deliberately lower their ages to appear more appealing to record labels and brands targeting younger demographics.
“I am 32 and I don’t bother myself for getting things right at this age. A lot of artists reduce their age because of record labels and partnership deals. You know a lot of investors in the music industry wouldn’t want to invest in older artists,” he expressed.
According to him, the trend is largely driven by industry preferences, where younger talents are often seen as more marketable and easier to invest in.
