Phyna Fires Back at Critics Over Surgery

Phyna has pushed back against criticism surrounding her decision to undergo cosmetic surgery, offering a candid perspective on what she believes drives public opinion on such matters.

The reality TV star, whose real name is Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, addressed the issue by suggesting that many critics might make similar decisions if they were in a comparable financial position.

According to her, attitudes toward cosmetic procedures are often influenced more by access to resources than by personal beliefs.

“You always say once someone wins Big Brother or goes on the show, they start doing things to their body. My dear, if you had money, do you know what you would do? Imagine you had ₦20 million you’re not even using as a woman, you would go and have surgery. Don’t let anybody deceive you. It’s because you are broke. Even me, I admit it’s because of money. It’s nothing else, I swear to God, I won’t lie to you. Right now, your thinking is clouded. You’re wondering, ‘Why are they doing this?’ My sister, it’s the money you don’t have that’s why you’re criticizing it. Don’t worry, if money comes your way, you will do it too,” she stated.

Her comments quickly gained attention online, fueling ongoing discussions about the intersection of wealth, personal choice, and societal expectations.

While some supported her candid stance, others criticised the tone of her remarks, highlighting the divided opinions that often accompany conversations around cosmetic enhancement.
