Crayon Slams Don Jazzy, Says ‘Mavin Is Going Down

Nigerian artist Charles Chibueze Chukwu, widely known as Crayon, has sparked a wave of online debate after openly criticizing his record label head, Don Jazzy, in several social media posts.

The singer, who is currently with Blowtime Entertainment, a branch of Mavin Records, used his X (formerly Twitter) account to voice his disapproval of the label’s management.

In his posts, Crayon seemed to take a direct shot at Don Jazzy, writing, “Don Jazzy na my boy!!!!!! Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333.”

He also aimed a more severe comment at Tega Oghenejobo, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mavin Records, calling him a “highest criminal.”

Crayon went on to make a startling allegation, claiming that he lost his mother because of the label, though he didn’t offer any more information to explain the remark.

In another post that has since gone viral, the singer stated, “Mavin is going down!!!!!!”, hinting at possible friction between himself and the record company.

This sudden outburst has led fans to wonder about the future of Crayon’s partnership with Mavin Records.

Still, it’s not yet certain if the singer’s X account was hacked, especially since his Instagram posts have remained normal and haven’t mentioned any security issues.

At the same time, Crayon shared details about what looks like a new project called Olodum Entertainment, even adding a new booking email to his Instagram profile.

These moves have added to the rumors that the singer might be preparing to leave Mavin Records, although neither Crayon nor the label has officially announced a separation.

Crayon first signed with Blowtime Entertainment, a Mavin Records subsidiary, in May 2019 and has released numerous tracks under the label since then.
