Former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has announced his resignation from the party with immediate effect.
In a statement dated March 29, 2026, Kwankwaso said his decision was driven by the need for strategic political realignment amid Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
He thanked the party for the opportunity to serve as its National Leader and presidential candidate, noting that the move was difficult but necessary to pursue broader national change.
