President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said his administration should be viewed as a continuation of the government led by his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Tinubu made the remarks while addressing the 36 state coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors during a meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. In his address, he emphasised that the transition between both administrations represents continuity rather than a departure in governance.
Describing Buhari as a partner, the President suggested that his leadership builds directly on the foundation laid by the previous administration.
“The truth is I took over from myself. The late Buhari is me; he was a partner. If I took over from him, is that not from myself?” he said.
Tinubu also acknowledged the economic and structural challenges currently facing the country, noting that ongoing reforms may require patience and resilience from citizens.
“If something is wrong, fine live with it, correct it, move on. It’s not going to be easy,” Tinubu stated.
He, however, expressed confidence that the measures being implemented would ultimately deliver positive outcomes, assuring supporters that their trust in his leadership would be justified.
“So many of you that are travelling with me, I can stand before you, you will not regret it,” he added.
The meeting was attended by key government figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside governors and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
