UN Urges US to Complete Iran School Strike Investigation

The United Nations (UN) has urged the United States to accelerate and complete its probe into a deadly strike on an Iranian primary school and to make the results publicly available.

The incident took place at the beginning of US-Israeli military actions last month.

Volker Türk, serving as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, made the appeal on Friday during an emergency session convened by Iran.

“Senior US officials have said the strike is under investigation. ‌I call for ‌that process to be concluded as soon as possible, and for its findings to be made public,” Türk said.

He also emphasized that accountability is necessary, adding that there “must be justice for the terrible harm ‌done.”
