The Police Service Commission has announced that the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) for candidates participating in the ongoing police recruitment exercise will take place from April 28 to April 30, 2026.
The examination will be conducted nationwide, covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, and comes immediately after the ongoing physical and credentials screening exercise, which is expected to conclude on April 18.
In a statement issued by the Sokoto State Police Command, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, described the CBT as a key stage in the recruitment process, emphasizing its role in selecting suitable candidates for the Nigeria Police Force.
“The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is a critical phase designed to ensure that only suitably qualified candidates are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
Rufa’i explained that the duration of the test in each state will depend largely on the number of candidates and the availability of functional CBT centres. While some states may complete the exercise within a single day, others may require the full three-day period.
“The scheduling is flexible to accommodate operational realities across states, but every eligible candidate will be given a fair opportunity to participate,” he added.
He further advised candidates to remain patient and await official communication regarding venue allocations and the release of shortlisted candidates.
“Candidates are advised to remain patient and rely only on information from official channels. Details of venues and shortlisted candidates will be communicated in due course,” Rufa’i stated.
The police also cautioned against the spread of misinformation, stressing that all updates related to the recruitment process will be issued through verified platforms.
The ongoing recruitment exercise forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the manpower and operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
