The management of the National Youth Service Corps has announced the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, outlining key dates and activities for prospective corps members.
In a statement issued by Caroline Embu, Director of Information and Public Relations, the NYSC confirmed that the orientation exercise will run for 21 days and will be held simultaneously across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the schedule, the orientation programme will begin with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Registration is expected to continue until midnight on Friday, April 24.
The swearing-in ceremony for those mobilised for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II service year is also slated for Friday, April 24, marking the official commencement of camp activities.
The orientation course will then run through to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, when the exercise is expected to formally conclude.
The NYSC management also extended its goodwill to Nigerian graduates heading to various orientation camps nationwide, wishing them safe travels.
At the same time, it reiterated its long-standing safety advisory, cautioning corps members against travelling at night.
“Prospective Corps Members are advised to break their journeys once it’s 6.00 pm and pass the night at any available Corps Members’ Lodge, military formation, police station/outpost or palace of a traditional ruler anywhere in the country, then continue the following morning.”
The scheme emphasised that adhering to this guidance is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants as they journey to their respective camps.
