‘Not At All Concerned’ About War Crimes – Trump

Donald Trump has said he is “not at all” concerned about the possibility of committing war crimes, following escalating tensions involving Iran and Israel.

The remark comes after a warning attributed to Trump threatening to destroy key Iranian infrastructure including bridges and power facilities, if Tehran does not comply with a stated deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Red Crescent reported that 17 civilian locations were struck in coordinated attacks involving the United States and Israel.

Humanitarian organisations have strongly criticised the developments, describing them as potential violations of international law.

In a statement posted on X, the Iranian Red Crescent stressed that attacks on unarmed civilians cannot be justified, calling such actions war crimes.

Trump, writing on his platform Truth Social, reiterated that he is “not at all” concerned about the possibility of committing war crimes.

The United Nations also weighed in on the situation. A spokesperson for Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted that international law restricts attacks on civilian infrastructure.

“Even if certain civilian infrastructure were to be deemed a military target,” Stephane Dujarric stated, an attack would still be forbidden if it poses a risk of “excessive incidental civilian harm.”

At the same time, emergency responders in Israel are dealing with the aftermath of a reported missile strike in a central area.

Visuals released by Magen David Adom show damage including an overturned vehicle and a collapsed structure.

According to The Times of Israel, the destruction was caused by cluster submunitions from an Iranian ballistic missile, although no injuries were immediately reported.
