On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the people of Iran to initiate political change within their country.
He emphasized that it was ultimately up to the Iranian populace to bring an end to the current leadership in Tehran.
During a meeting with representatives from Israel’s Ministry of Health, Netanyahu stated that the government’s broader objective is to see Iranians liberate themselves from what he characterized as oppressive rule.
“Our goal is to bring the Iranian people to throw off the yoke of tyranny, but ultimately it depends on them,” Netanyahu said, according to a statement released by his office.
Referring to the Iranian leadership, he further added: “There is no doubt that we are breaking their bones with the measures taken so far.”
Netanyahu has previously made similar statements concerning political change in Iran, encouraging citizens to overthrow the country’s ruling establishment.
His remarks come amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, coupled with ongoing regional security concerns.
