Israel Claims Killing of Iran Basij Intelligence Chief

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday claimed responsibility for the killing of the head of intelligence of Iran’s Basij paramilitary force, Esmail Ahmadi.

According to the IDF, Ahmadi was killed in the same strike carried out earlier this week that also eliminated several senior Basij officials, including its top commander, Gholamreza Soleimani.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no immediate confirmation or response from Iran regarding the incident.

The development adds to a growing list of senior Iranian figures reportedly killed in recent strikes, including security chief Ali Larijani and intelligence minister Esmaeil Khatib.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed in the early hours of the joint military attacks and has been succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
