Iran Police Arrest 466 Over Online Security Threats

Iranian police have arrested at least 466 individuals over alleged online activities said to threaten national security.

According to state media reports, the arrests were carried out on Tuesday in what is being described as one of the largest security crackdowns since the onset of tensions involving Israel and the United States.

Reports indicate that more than 1,000 people have been arrested over the past month for similar offences, including filming sensitive locations, sharing anti-government content online, or allegedly collaborating with hostile entities.

In a statement, the police said the latest arrests followed intelligence gathering and technical surveillance conducted in recent days.

Authorities also claimed that those detained were linked to networks working with external forces to destabilise the country internally.
