DSS Reportedly Storms Malami’s Abuja Residence

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday reportedly stormed a residence belonging to former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami in Abuja, forcing occupants to vacate the premises.

According to sources, the incident happened shortly after former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar paid a visit to the Maitama home, where he is said to have spent about an hour before departing.

An aide to Atiku confirmed that the visit took place, while another witness revealed that DSS operatives had already positioned themselves around the property during the meeting but only entered after Atiku had left, as reported by People’s Gazette.

The development comes amid increasing pressure on opposition figures, including Malami, to align with the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Some critics have accused President Bola Tinubu of attempting to weaken political opponents ahead of the next election, an allegation the president has denied.

In recent weeks, Malami has been standing trial over alleged corruption charges, a situation that some observers suggest could be politically driven.

Earlier in the day, Atiku shared photos from his visit to Malami but made no mention of the reported raid.

As of now, the DSS has yet to release an official statement addressing the alleged incident.
