The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo State Command, has deployed over 2,000 personnel across Edo State to ensure a safe and hitch-free Easter celebration.
State Commandant Saidi Akintayo disclosed that the move is part of proactive security measures covering the period before, during, and after the festivities.
According to him, the personnel drawn from specialised units have been strategically positioned across the state’s three senatorial districts to secure key locations such as markets, highways, recreational centres, and worship venues.
“This deployment is aimed at ensuring a peaceful, safe and hitch-free Easter celebration for all residents,” he said.
Akintayo added that the command will collaborate with other security agencies to strengthen operations, enhance intelligence gathering, and ensure rapid response to any threats.
He also urged residents to remain law-abiding and security-conscious, warning that the corps is fully prepared to deal with any criminal activity during the festive period.
