Ekiti Crash: Truck Kills Student, Leaves Family Homeless

A grieving father, Mr. Rufus Farotimi, is demanding justice after a truck crashed into his home in Aramoko-Ekiti, killing his 21-year-old son, Promise, and leaving the family homeless.

The incident occurred on March 26, 2026, when a heavy-duty truck rammed into the house, crushing the victim, a 300-level student of FUOYE, while he slept.

Farotimi described the tragedy as devastating, saying, “My son was killed… I’ve lost my child and my shelter.”

The driver reportedly fled the scene, but his assistant was arrested, with documents identifying the suspect as Shuaibu Yusuf.

The bereaved father has called on authorities to arrest the driver and urged the company linked to the truck to take responsibility, while police say investigations are ongoing.
