Why I Moved in with My Husband Before Wedding – KieKie

Nollywood actress and skit maker Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as KieKie, has shared the reasoning behind her decision to live with her husband before their official wedding ceremony.

During a conversation with Toke Makinwa, the actress explained that the move was largely influenced by practical circumstances at the time rather than any deliberate departure from tradition.

She noted that by the time they began living together, their traditional marriage rites had already been completed, and they were in the final stages of preparing for their white wedding.

KieKie also revealed that her rental agreement had expired around that period, which played a major role in her decision. Instead of renewing her lease for a short time, she chose to move in with her partner.

“Before my husband and I got married, we lived together for about four months. My rent had expired, and we were getting married in January, so I said to myself, ‘Why pay another rent?’ People might judge it, but I wasn’t going to waste money. We’d already done our introduction. The church didn’t know about it, and I used to sing in church that time,” she remarked.
