I Thought Fame Meant Many Women – Lojay

Lojay has shared candid insights into how his perspective on fame and success has changed since rising in the music industry.

Speaking during an appearance on the I Said What I Said podcast, the “Monalisa” crooner revealed that, in his early days, he associated becoming a pop star with a lifestyle filled with indulgence, particularly when it came to relationships with women.

“There is a lot of temptation in the music industry. You will see a lot of things, but you are not meant to touch. I used to think I would frolic with a lot of ladies because there are babes everywhere. But when you have about 100 girls talking to you, that is when you need to cultivate discipline.

“I realised if you want a long career like the Big 3, you have to stay away from too many girls,” he said.

According to Lojay, his outlook began to shift once he gained firsthand experience in the industry. He noted that many of the lifestyles he once found appealing while still an underground artist did not hold the same attraction after he entered the mainstream.

He explained that the reality of the music industry involves a higher level of discipline than outsiders often assume. Artists, he said, must be intentional about their actions and words, as their public image and reputation are constantly under scrutiny.

Lojay also acknowledged that his personal disposition has played a role in helping him maintain discipline, particularly in avoiding excessive indulgence and managing the pressures that come with fame.
