Nigerian rapper Olamide has shared insights into the challenges he faces during live performances, revealing that he still experiences nervousness before going on stage.
Speaking in an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the award-winning artist explained that his anxiety stems from previous unsettling encounters while performing in front of large crowds.
According to Olamide, some of his past stage experiences involved unexpected physical interactions from members of the audience, including attempts to grab his belongings such as chains or hats.
He described these incidents as disturbing and unpredictable, contributing to his ongoing apprehension about performing live.
“I get nervous everytime I am going on the stage. I have had too many crazy experiences while performing. Someone from no where will just come and grab your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he explained.
Despite his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most consistent performers, the rapper’s remarks highlight the less visible pressures artists can face during live shows, especially when crowd control becomes difficult.
