Trump Signature to Appear on US Currency for 250th Anniversary

Donald Trump is set to have his signature appear on newly printed U.S. paper currency as part of plans to mark the country’s 250th anniversary, according to the United States Department of the Treasury.

The announcement means Trump would become the first sitting U.S. president to have his signature featured on American paper money.

Treasurer Brandon Beach described the move as a fitting recognition of the president’s economic legacy.

“The President’s mark on history as the architect of America’s Golden Age economic revival is undeniable. Printing his signature on the American currency is not only appropriate, but also well deserved,” he said.

While details remain limited, the Treasury indicated that the president’s signature will appear on future notes alongside that of the Treasury Secretary, typically located on the lower right side of the bill.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also defended the decision, linking it to the Semiquincentennial celebration.

“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name, and it is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the Semiquincentennial,” he said.

The move follows earlier initiatives that tied Trump’s name to financial instruments, including pandemic-era stimulus checks bearing his signature and the introduction of so-called “Trump checks”ntax-free investment accounts for children born between 2025 and 2028.

There has also been discussion of commemorative currency designs, including a previously shared concept of a one-dollar coin featuring Trump’s image, though no official confirmation has been given on whether such a coin will be produced.
