Adeleke Urges NANS Leaders to Drive National Development

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on student leaders under the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South-West Zone D, to play active roles in national development.

He made the appeal during the inauguration of the association’s new executives at Osun State College of Health Technology, where he was represented by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Abiodun Ojo.

Adeleke urged the students to embrace leadership responsibilities early and not wait for future opportunities. He also stressed the need for gender inclusion, encouraging the participation of more women in student leadership.

“Let me reaffirm the state government’s support for NANS. Our administration is student-friendly and I want to urge the newly inaugurated executives to contribute meaningfully to national development.

“You are the leaders of today, and the journey starts now. Do not compromise your future for financial inducements. Remain focused and engage in activities that will be beneficial to the nation,” Adeleke told the students.

Also speaking, the Governing Council Chairman of the institution, Abayomi Adegoke, urged the new executives to take their responsibilities seriously and adopt constructive engagement with authorities rather than confrontation.

In his remarks, NANS Zone D Coordinator Josiah Adeyemo pledged improved student welfare and called for cooperation among members.
