DSS Arrests Gun Runner With 850 Rounds in Cross River

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a suspected gun runner with no fewer than 850 live rounds of ammunition in Cross River State.

The suspect was apprehended in the early hours of Tuesday during a covert operation conducted by DSS operatives in a community within the state.

Sources within the DSS said “the arrest followed credible intelligence on the movement of illegal arms in the area”.

According to the sources, the suspect was intercepted while allegedly transporting the ammunition to an undisclosed location, raising concerns about potential threats to public safety.

Items recovered from the suspect include 850 live bullets, believed to be intended for criminal use.

The DSS has since taken the suspect into custody for further interrogation and investigation, while efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the network.
