‘You Need Money to Be a Role Model’ – Nedu

The well-known media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has put forth a provocative assertion: that in Nigeria, one cannot truly become a role model if they are poor.

Nedu shared this perspective during his recent podcast discussion with fellow media personality, Chude Jideonwo.

While delving into the pervasive influence of money in contemporary society, Nedu observed that individuals no longer hold respect for or choose impoverished people as their role models.

In a snippet from the interview, which he shared on his Instagram page, Nedu also controversially claimed that many women residing in the affluent Lekki area of Lagos state are unable to afford their own rent.

“You can’t be a role model when you don’t have money in Nigeria. Most women wey dey live for Lekki, na men dey pay their rent.”
