Nigerian Man Gives Papa Ajasco $25,000 and Car

A Nigerian man has stirred reactions online after gifting veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, widely known as Papa Ajasco, a cash sum of $25,000 along with a car.

The gesture followed the actor’s recent revelation about his financial difficulties, where he stated that despite his popularity from the comedy series Papa Ajasco & Company, he does not own a house or a car.

In a video that quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), the man expressed appreciation for the actor’s impact on his childhood.

“I bought this car for you with the sum of $25,000. You made me so happy. I enjoyed your movie,” he said while presenting the vehicle as a gift.

The act has attracted widespread attention, with many Nigerians applauding the donor’s generosity and urging greater support for veteran entertainers.

Earlier, Papa Ajasco had explained that his earnings have been limited due to the trademark ownership of the character by Wale Adenuga Productions, which restricts his ability to fully profit from the brand.

Responding to the claims, the Chief Executive Officer of Wale Adenuga Productions, Wale Adenuga, rejected the narrative of hardship, insisting that the actor has benefited considerably from his career.

He stated that Ayoyinka owns a house in Ogun State and has used several cars over the years, including a Mercedes-Benz. He added that the company compensates its staff in line with industry standards and maintains professional relationships.

Adenuga further clarified that while the actor is free to pursue other acting roles, he is required to seek approval before using the “Papa Ajasco” character.
